With the enlighten™ system, we can achieve dramatic results after just a few treatments – experience your tattoo disappear
What once was a great idea can often turn out into regret after a while. Perhaps, you simply have a change of heart or perhaps you have come to dislike your tattoo with time. As your skin ages, tattoos can become distorted, the ink fades away, leaving you with an undesirable tattoo.
By using a laser to remove tattoos, we go underneath the surface into your dermis to break down the pigment in the ink into smaller particles. This allows your body’s immune system to process and eliminates the ink particles, leaving your tattoo to fade.
Benefits of tattoo removal with our enlighten™ system
At Victoria’s, our certified clinical therapists use only the latest medical-grade technology, enlighten™, engineered by Cutera. This is the only laser system in its class to feature both longer (2 nanoseconds) and shorter (750 picoseconds) pulse durations, enabling effective treatment of tattoo removal.
- Minimally invasive procedure
- Suitable for all skin types and skin colours
- Is effective for tattoos of all colours
- Can be used in all areas of the body
Some colours require more treatments before results are visible, which means that multicoloured tattoos will fade at varying degrees during the treatment process. Black & red colours tend to be easier to remove while blues & green nuances require a few more treatments. The different ink colours require different laser wavelengths and with enlighten™ and its dual picosecond and nanosecond lasers, this is easily addressed.
Before and after enlighten™ treatment
Consultation, treatment and aftercare
The treatment process will vary depending on the size, colour and age of your tattoo. Smaller and faded ones can be removed in 2-4 visits, but more complex cases can take up to 10 sessions before the desired results are achieved. Treatments should be at least 6 weeks apart to give the area enough time to heal in between sessions; the more time between each treatment the better the final result is likely to be.
In your consultation, we will assess your tattoo but also your skin and the depth to which the link extends. We will then be able to estimate the number of treatment sessions you may need and what results you can expect.
The treated area may be red & sensitive after each session and you may experience blisters and scabbing. You will get the best results by following our aftercare instructions because a big part of the success depends on how well you look after the area while it’s healing. Keep it clean, protected and apply the recommended cream to help with healing and to avoid infection.
If you have a tattoo you would like to have removed, organise an appointment to discuss your options with one of our experienced clinicians.
